Frankincense and myrrh set the tone: the first is dry, lemony and smoky, the second darker and more bitter, and together they give a temple-like atmosphere. Nutmeg warms them with a soft, dusty spice. Iris and heliotrope bring a powdery, almond-tinged softness that sits between the resins like a cushion, and amber and musk supply the base, sweet and enveloping without turning heavy.
This is an incense fragrance that is quieter than most, more powder than smoke in the drydown. Worn by anyone, it suits cool weather and evenings, or any time you want something contemplative rather than loud. If you like incense but find many examples harsh, this is a gentler route in.
