Kenzo Air, created by Maurice Roucel in 2003, is a spicy, woody masculine with a fresh green lift. Spice and wood lead together, with green, ambery and citrus facets in equal support.
Its notes are listed as one blend rather than in stages. Bergamot gives a light citrus freshness, while licorice, anise and caraway create an unusual, sweet-herbal spice with a slightly bready, aniseed character. Angelica adds a green, earthy and musky note. Underneath, cedar gives dry wood, vetiver an earthy, faintly smoky tone and amber a soft warmth that rounds out the spice.
Most wearers report moderate longevity, with a good share finding it long lasting, and the trail is mostly moderate. It is voted for spring and summer and strongly for daytime. That suits it to the office and casual warm-weather days, for someone who wants a fresh scent with a quirky, aniseed twist.
