It opens with pepper and incense, a sharp, dry heat against a thin, church-like smoke. The heart is herbal and earthy: sage brings a green, slightly camphorous aroma, vetiver a dry, grassy woodiness, and cypriol a smoky, earthy depth that reads almost like oud. The base is warm and classic, with amber giving a golden, resinous glow, oakmoss a dry, forest-floor bitterness, and musk a soft, lasting finish.
It suits autumn and winter and works for daytime or evening. Anyone who likes incense and herbs set in a warm, mossy amber rather than a sweet one should find it rewarding.
