Dalissime, created by Mark Buxton for Salvador Dali in 1994, is a sweet, fruity floral from the decade that loved them. Sweetness is what everyone agrees on, most also describe it as floral, and a minority notice the woody, musky and amber touches in the base.
The opening is a bowl of fruit: pineapple, plum, peach and apricot together, ripe and juicy with a tropical tang from the pineapple. The heart is a full bouquet, with rose and jasmine at the centre, lily of the valley adding a dewy freshness, narcissus a green, slightly earthy depth and marigold a bitter, sunny edge that stops it being purely pretty. The base keeps the fruit going with litchi, then wraps it in vanilla, tonka bean and amber over sandalwood and musk, so it finishes warm and smooth.
Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate trail. It is voted mostly for spring and summer and for daytime, which suits a cheerful, fruit-forward floral that is sweet without being heavy.
