Laguna, composed by Mark Buxton for Salvador Dali in 1991, is a sweet, tropical fruity floral with a creamy base. Everyone describes it as gourmand, most also find it woody and floral, and a good number notice citrus; a minority pick up green and musky touches.

The opening is a crowded fruit bowl: pineapple, peach, plum and raspberry alongside mandarin orange, Moroccan lemon and grapefruit, with galbanum leaf adding a sharp, green bitterness that cuts through the sweetness. The heart is a soft bouquet of jasmine, lily of the valley and Egyptian rose, with Italian iris adding a cool powderiness and rosewood a smooth, slightly sweet wood. The base turns creamy and warm: coconut and vanilla over Madagascar sandalwood, tonka bean, amber and musk.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate to close trail, with a minority finding it weak. It is voted mainly for summer and spring and firmly for daytime. It suits someone who wants a cheerful, holiday-flavoured scent for warm weather.
