Pleasures, created for Estée Lauder in 1995 by Alberto Morillas and Annie Buzantian, is a fresh, airy floral that smells of a garden after rain. Flowers lead clearly, and a minority of people notice woods, spice, greenery and musk.

The opening is green and dewy: green notes and violet leaf give a crisp, leafy freshness, red berries a light fruitiness, pink pepper a gentle sparkle, and freesia and tuberose a soft floral lift. The heart is a clean, generous bouquet with rose, lily of the valley, jasmine, lilac, peony and lily, bright and transparent rather than heavy. The base is sandalwood, cedar, patchouli and musk, a soft, clean woody finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, with a fair number finding it long lasting, and the trail is mostly moderate. It is voted mainly for spring and overwhelmingly for daytime. That suits office wear, weddings, daytime events and anyone who loves a clean, fresh, green floral.
