Soleil de Feu by Tom Ford, released in 2023, is a warm, resinous floral for women. Everyone describes it as woody, floral, resinous and ambery at once, which sums up a scent that is both a white flower and a sunlit amber. The composition is credited to Shyamala Maisondieu and Givaudan.
No formal pyramid is given, only four notes: tuberose, amber, benzoin and sandalwood. The tuberose supplies the floral side, creamy and slightly heady rather than green, and it sits over a thick, golden base. Benzoin brings a sweet, balsamic, vanilla-like resin, amber adds warmth and glow, and sandalwood gives a smooth, milky woodiness that holds everything together. The result is less a sequence of stages than a single warm accord that slowly softens.
Half of wearers find it long lasting and most of the rest moderate, and projection is moderate for two thirds with a quarter calling it strong. Autumn leads the season votes, with winter behind, and day and night are chosen about equally. It suits cool evenings and anyone who wants a solar floral with real warmth.
