03 Lonestar Memories, released in 2006 by the Swiss house Tauer Perfumes and composed by Andy Tauer, is equally woody, floral and resinous, with sweet, green and leathery accords at half strength. It is worn by anyone.
Carrot seeds, clary sage and geranium open with an earthy, herbal and slightly rosy-minty character. The heart brings jasmine, labdanum and leather together, creamy flowers against a smoky, ambery resin and a dry, campfire-like leather. The base is warm and resinous: myrrh adds a cool, slightly bitter smoke, vetiver an earthy dryness, sandalwood a creamy softness and tonka bean a gentle sweetness.
Most wearers report that it lasts a long time, with a fair number finding it practically endless, and that it projects moderately to strongly. It is voted mainly for autumn and winter, and slightly more for night than day. It suits anyone who enjoys smoky leather and resins with an evocative, outdoorsy character.
