Oudyssee pairs oud with sea air, which is an unusual combination. Montale released it in 2023 for anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it woody, fresh and citrus, and about half add spicy, aromatic and amber.
Bergamot and lemon open it with a sharp, clean brightness, joined by ginger for a warm, peppery zing and sea water and sea notes for a salty, marine freshness. Lavender and mate add an aromatic, slightly green herbal layer in the middle. Oud sits underneath, and here it reads as dry, woody and smoky rather than medicinal, with amber and musk softening it into a warm, salty base.
