Black Musk is a spicy, woody scent first and a musk second, with leather and amber adding warmth underneath. Pierre Montale composed it for Montale in 2010, and it is worn by anyone.
Black pepper and pepper give it a dry, sharp heat from the start, with nutmeg adding a rounder, warmer spice. Underneath, patchouli brings an earthy darkness and leather a smoky, slightly animalic edge. Teak wood and sandalwood form the woody core, dry and smooth respectively, while musk and amber soften everything into a warm, skin-like finish. The musk here is dark rather than clean or soapy.
Longevity is a strong point: about a third of wearers say it lasts almost indefinitely and another third call it long lasting. Projection is moderate to strong.
