Carven Le Parfum is a fresh white floral with a soft woody base and a touch of fruit. Francis Kurkdjian composed it for Carven in 2013, in parfum concentration, and it is marketed to women.
The opening pairs white hyacinth, a green and slightly watery flower, with the gentle sweetness of apricot and mandarin blossom, so the first minutes feel bright rather than heavy. The heart is a light bouquet of sweet pea, ylang-ylang and jasmine, pretty and clean rather than heady. Underneath, osmanthus brings its apricot-leather softness, Indonesian patchouli adds a little earth and sandalwood gives a creamy, warm finish that most wearers find restrained.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a good number find it long lasting; projection is mostly moderate, with some calling it strong. Spring and summer collect most of the season votes, and it is worn mainly in the daytime, which suits it to the office, daytime events and warm-weather weekends.
