Yuzu Man by Caron, composed by Richard Fraysse in 2011, is a citrus masculine with a green fig heart and a nutty, woody base. Woodiness is what everyone agrees on; most also describe it as spicy, sweet and citrusy, and a third find it green and aromatic.

Yuzu opens it, a Japanese citrus that smells like a cross between grapefruit and mandarin, sharp and aromatic, with lemon verbena and basil adding a green, herbal freshness. Fig and black fig form the heart, green, milky and slightly sweet, with fruity notes rounding them out. Pistachio is the surprise: a soft, nutty, faintly sweet note that gives the scent its gourmand side. The base is cedar, Virginia cedar and sandalwood, dry and creamy, with spices adding a gentle warmth.

It reads as a fresh but substantial scent for warm weather and daytime, suited to someone who likes citrus with character and wants fig and pistachio rather than the usual marine or musky dry-down.
