Accord 119 by the French house Caron, composed by Richard Fraysse and released in 2011, is a sweet, green, musky scent built on blackcurrant. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, about two-thirds also find it green and musky, and a third woody, floral or ambery.
The notes are listed without stages. Black currant and blackberry give a dark, tart, juicy opening, and black currant leaf a sharp, green, slightly sour bite that is the signature of the material. Jasmine brings a soft floral note into the middle, and heliotrope a powdery, almond-like sweetness. The base is vanilla, amber, patchouli and musk, warm and sweet with an earthy undertone.
Accord 119 is a feminine fragrance. The combination of tart fruit, green leaf and warm vanilla works across autumn and winter, day or evening, and suits someone who enjoys fruity gourmands with a sharp, green edge rather than pure sugar. It is sold in a 100 ml bottle.
