Poivre Impérial

Poivre Impérial is a peppery floral from Caron, released in 2022 and worn by anyone. Spicy is how everyone describes it, most also find it floral, and a quarter notice wood, which fits a composition built on three kinds of pepper and two flowers.

Black pepper, Sichuan pepper and pepper open it together, and the effect is layered: the black pepper hot and dry, the Sichuan pepper tingling, slightly citrusy and almost numbing, and the general pepper note tying them into a warm, sharp cloud. Saffron adds a dry, leathery, faintly metallic spice alongside them. The heart is rose and jasmine, the rose dark and slightly jammy, the jasmine warm and creamy, with lotus adding a cool, watery, faintly green softness that gives the flowers room to breathe. Cashmeran is the only base note, a soft, musky, slightly spicy wood that carries the pepper and flowers into a smooth, warm finish.

It is a scent for cooler weather, daytime or evening, worn by anyone who likes rose with a real peppery bite.
