Holysm from Xerjoff, released in 2023, is a woody fragrance with smaller groups noticing spice, greenery, resin, herbs and amber.
Thyme, clary sage and caraway give a dry, herbal, slightly savoury opening, more like a herb garden than a citrus bowl. Balsam fir and fir bring a sticky, resinous, forest-like note. The heart and base are dark and smoky: cade oil gives a tarry, campfire smoke, tobacco a dry, honeyed warmth and labdanum a deep, ambery resin. Vietnamese oud adds a dry, slightly medicinal wood, supported by cedar for crispness, sandalwood for creaminess and patchouli for an earthy depth.
Holysm is shared and can be worn by anyone. Its smoky woods and herbs suit autumn and winter, evenings, walks in the cold and quiet nights by the fire, and should appeal to people who like dry, smoky, rustic woody scents rather than sweet ones.
