Seconde Peau from the French house Courrèges, released in 2021, is a pared-back green woody scent. Wood is what everyone notices, and most also find it green.
The composition uses only a few materials. Pine and pine tree give it a cool, resinous, coniferous freshness, more forest air than Christmas tree. Tea and tea leaf add a dry, slightly tannic, leafy greenness that keeps it light and clean. Vetiver underneath brings an earthy, faintly smoky dryness and gives the drydown its woody structure. The whole thing stays close to the skin, which fits the name.
It is worn by anyone and suits daytime wear across most of the year, for the office or the outdoors, for someone who likes quiet green woods with no sweetness and no flowers, worn like a second skin rather than a statement.
