SHK I

SHK I is a clean, woody musk from Armaf, released in 2024 and marketed for men. Woody is how everyone describes it, about half also call it musky, and a quarter notice spice, amber or citrus, which fits a smooth, modern masculine with no fruit or sweetness in it.

Bergamot opens it with a bright, slightly bitter citrus, and pink pepper adds a rosy, lightly peppery sparkle that gives the start a little lift. The heart is wood: cedar for a dry, pencil-like line and cashmere wood for a softer, more musky, slightly velvety warmth, the two together giving the scent its body. Vetiver adds a smoky, rooty dryness beneath them, and the base is a pair of musks, white musk for a clean, cottony freshness and a warmer musk for a skin-like softness, with amber adding a gentle, resinous glow that lasts after the citrus has gone.

It is a versatile daytime scent for most seasons and settings, for men who like woods kept clean, soft and understated.
