2 Wood

2 Wood is a forest-leaning woody scent from DSQUARED², composed by Olivier Cresp and released in 2021 for anyone to wear. Woody is the word everyone uses; a minority also find it citrusy, spicy, musky or ambery.

Lemon and citron open it with a quick, zesty brightness, and pink pepper adds a light, rosy spice that keeps the first minutes lively. The heart is where it earns its name: silver fir and cypress give a cool, resinous, conifer-needle greenness, the kind of smell associated with a pine wood after rain, and cedar adds a drier, smoother plank of wood beneath it. Haitian vetiver brings a rooty, slightly smoky earthiness to the base, while amber and musk warm it and soften the finish so it stays wearable rather than austere.
