Chelsea Nights

Chelsea Nights by Bond No 9, composed by Miroslav Petkov and released in 2022 for anyone to wear, is a sweet, woody scent built on chocolate and spice. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, about half add woody, and a minority find it spicy, floral, resinous or amber.

The notes are many and listed together. Cocoa, cacao pod and hazelnut set the tone, a roasted, bitter-sweet, nutty chocolate. Saffron and turmeric add a dry, earthy, slightly leathery spice, and sesame a toasted, nutty depth. Rose gives a soft floral thread through the middle. The base is rich: agarwood for a resinous wood, patchouli for earth, myrrh for a bitter, smoky resin, suede for a soft leather, and vanilla, tonka bean and amber for a smooth, warm sweetness that carries the drydown.

Reports on how it wears are still few. Its character belongs to winter evenings, for someone who wants a chocolate scent that is spiced, woody and grown-up rather than sugary.
