NoMad

NoMad is a sweet, fruity wood from Bond No 9, composed by Miroslav Petkov and released in 2021 for anyone to wear. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, and about half also find it green, woody or floral, with a minority picking up an ambery side.

Pear, quince and blackcurrant open it with a crisp, slightly tart fruitiness, and violet leaf adds a cool, green, cucumber-like sharpness that keeps the first minutes from being merely sweet. The heart brings rose and orris root, the orris adding a soft, powdery, faintly earthy smoothness around the rose. In the base, oud gives a dark woody depth without any harshness, sandalwood a creamy warmth, and vanilla and amber the sweetness that leads most people to call it a gourmand.

It is a rich, comfortable scent that favours cooler weather and evenings, and its blend of fruit, powder and sweet wood suits anyone who likes a modern oud softened for everyday wear. Those who enjoy pear-and-iris compositions with a vanilla finish should feel at home.
