Oud Nebula

Oud Nebula from The Harmonist, composed by Guillaume Flavigny and released in 2024, is a woody rose-oud with a leathery edge. Woody is the word everyone uses for it, about half also find it floral, and a quarter pick up spicy, green, ambery or leathery facets.

Saffron opens it with a warm, slightly medicinal spice, and bay leaf adds a green, aromatic sharpness that gives the top some freshness. Bulgarian rose is the heart, full and slightly jammy, and it is set against agarwood, which brings a dark, smoky, faintly animalic woodiness. Cedar and sandalwood keep the base smooth and dry, leather adds a supple, polished warmth, and tonka bean and amber round it off with a soft, lasting sweetness.

Oud Nebula is worn by anyone. Rose and oud together suit cooler weather and evenings, and it should appeal to someone who likes the pairing but wants a refined, balanced version rather than a heavy, traditional one.
