Hotan

Hotan by the Italian house Olfattology, released in 2021, is a musky floral with a cool, spiced edge. Musky and floral impressions are shared by everyone who describes it, and about half also find it spicy, woody, aromatic or amber-like.

Cloves and mint give the opening an unusual contrast, warm and numbing on one side and cool and clean on the other. Lily of the valley and rose provide the floral centre, fresh and slightly dewy, while chamomile softens them with a gentle herbal note. White musk and musk dominate the base, giving a clean, skin-like softness, with sandalwood adding a creamy wood and amber a light warmth that keeps the drydown from feeling thin.
