Berlin Im Winter

Berlin Im Winter by Baruti, composed by Spyros Drosopoulos in 2015 and worn by anyone, is a sweet, resinous, slightly smoky scent built around coffee, oud and incense. Sweetness is what everyone picks up, most also describe it as floral and resinous, and a third find it woody, aromatic and leathery.

Black currant and plum open it, dark and jammy, with lavender adding a cool, aromatic lift. Coffee follows, roasted and a little bitter, and rose and iris add a soft, powdery floral layer that gives the scent its gentleness. The base is deep and smoky: agarwood and leather for a dark, resinous, worn-in depth, frankincense and myrrh for a cool, church-like smoke, mastic for a green, piney, slightly bitter resin and amber for warmth.

It reads as a cold-weather and evening fragrance, cosy and a little melancholy, suited to someone who likes coffee and incense together and wants a scent that smells of a warm room in a cold city.
