Kintsugi

Kintsugi by Masque Milano, composed by Vanina Muracciole and released in 2019, is a raspberry and rose scent that is both green and ambery. Everyone who describes it uses gourmand, green, floral and ambery together, and about half add resinous and citrusy.

Bergamot and raspberry open it with a bright, tart fruitiness, but raspberry leaf and violet leaf immediately add a crushed-stem greenness that keeps the fruit from being candy-like. The heart is rose and magnolia, a soft, slightly lemony floral pairing, with suede adding a powdery, skin-like texture. The base is warm and resinous: Siam benzoin and amber bring a sweet, vanilla-tinged balsam, vanilla itself rounds it off and patchouli gives an earthy dryness underneath.

It is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. The balance of green leaves and warm resin makes it adaptable across seasons, leaning cosier as it dries down, and it suits people who like fruity florals with more complexity than sweetness.
