Somnia 517, from the Swiss house Maison Noir, was released in 2023 and composed by Jérôme Epinette. It is made to be worn by anyone and sits squarely in the warm, sweet camp: everyone calls it gourmand, woody and amber-like, and about half also find it floral, resinous or citrusy.
The notes are listed together. Bergamot provides a brief citrus lift at the start. Jasmine and plumeria give the heart a creamy, tropical white-floral softness. The base carries the weight: labdanum and black amber bring a dense, resinous warmth, cashmere wood adds a soft, velvety woodiness, vanilla sweetens and ambergris adds a salty, mineral glow.
