Leonard

Leonard, released by the French house Leonard in 2012 and marketed for women, is a soft, tropical floral composed by Benoist Lapouza and Delphine Lebeau. Floral is how everyone describes it, and a quarter also notice spice, sweetness, wood or musk beneath the flowers.

Pink pepper opens it with a rosy, lightly peppery sparkle, and apricot blossom adds a delicate, fruity-floral sweetness that sets a gentle tone. The heart is where the warmth gathers: frangipani brings a creamy, sweet, faintly peachy tropical note, ylang-ylang a rich, banana-tinged, slightly spicy depth, and orange blossom a honeyed white-flower brightness, while syringa, or lilac, adds a cool, powdery, springtime freshness that keeps the bouquet from feeling heavy.
