L’Eau Super Majeure d’Issey from Issey Miyake, created by Fabrice Pellegrin and Aurélien Guichard in 2018, is a woody, salty scent with a sweet, smoky base. Wood leads, with sweetness and freshness strongly present and green, aromatic and citrus touches.

It opens with citrus fruits for brightness, and clary sage and rosemary for a herbal, aromatic freshness. The heart is marine and woody: sea salt and sea notes give a mineral, ocean-air quality, cashmeran a soft, musky woodiness, and patchouli and woody notes an earthy depth. The base turns warm and dark, with amberwood bringing a dry, radiant amber, smoke and leather a slightly rugged texture, and tonka bean and Madagascar vanilla a smooth sweetness.

Most wearers report that it is long lasting, with a moderate trail that a good share find strong. It is voted for summer and spring and mainly for daytime. That suits it to warm days, for someone who wants a fresh, salty scent with real depth.
