Aigner No 1, from the French brand Etienne Aigner, was released in 2012 as a men's fragrance. Everyone who rates it calls it spicy and woody, and about a quarter also find it floral, resinous, amber-like or citrusy.
The notes are listed together. Bergamot gives a brief brightness, and ginger, cinnamon and pepper bring heat and a dry, warming spice from the start. Artemisia adds a bitter, herbal edge, with geranium and ginger flower supplying a light floral touch. The base is deep: agarwood for a dark, resinous woodiness, incense for smoke, labdanum for resinous warmth, and cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and musk for a dry, smooth finish.
