Classic Blue, released by David Beckham in 2014, is a green, woody fragrance composed by Aurélien Guichard and Jean-Christophe Hérault. Everyone who describes it calls it green, most add woody, and about half find a sweet, fruity gourmand side; a minority also notice floral or citrus facets.
The notes are listed without a pyramid. Grapefruit gives a bitter-fresh citrus lift, while apple and pineapple provide the juicy sweetness people pick up on. Violet leaf, clary sage and geranium supply the green character, a slightly metallic, leafy freshness. Beneath that, cashmere wood adds a soft, warm woodiness, patchouli brings earth, and oakmoss and moss give a dry, forest-floor finish.
