Mint & Tonic from the British house Atkinsons, composed by Evelyne Boulanger and released in 2018, is a crisp citrus built around the idea of a cold drink. Citrus is the description everyone agrees on; two thirds also find it woody, and a third each spicy, musky, floral or aromatic.
Grapefruit, lime and mandarin give a sharp, slightly bitter opening, and mint adds the cooling lift the name promises. Ginger brings a dry, fizzy heat that reads a little like the bite of tonic water. Geranium in the heart adds a green, minty-rose freshness that bridges the citrus and the woods. The base is cedar and vetiver, dry and clean, with a soft musk underneath so that the drydown feels tidy rather than sweet.
It is a shared scent, worn by anyone. The profile suggests hot weather and daytime, when the mint and citrus are at their most refreshing; the woody base gives it a little more structure than a simple cologne.
