Anbar

Anbar is a sweet, resinous amber from Tola, composed by Dhaher Bin Dhaher and released in 2013. Gourmand is the word everyone uses for it; about half also find it floral or ambery, and a third woody, musky or resinous.

Strawberry, apple, plum and orange give the opening a bright, jammy fruitiness, and cinnamon adds a warm, sweet spice. The heart is softly floral: jasmine for warmth, carnation for a clove-like spiciness, and orris root for a cool, powdery touch. The base is deep and classic: labdanum and Siam benzoin for a rich, resinous amber, incense for a dry smoke, vanilla and tonka bean for a creamy sweetness, cedar and patchouli for woody and earthy depth, and ambergris, white musk and musk for a warm, lasting, skin-like finish.
