Délire Rouge

Délire Rouge is a woody floral from the Italian house LPDO, released in 2020 and marketed to women. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, three quarters add woody, about half find it ambery, and a minority mention spicy, musky and citrus.

Orange gives the opening a brief, sweet citrus lift, and saffron adds a warm, leathery spice. The heart is a rich bouquet: rose and white rose, one deeper and one cleaner; jasmine, creamy and warm; and magnolia, lemony and fresh. The base is the unusual part, with fir and fir resin bringing a green, coniferous, slightly sticky note that gives the woods a forest feel, while amber adds warmth and musk softens the drydown.

The pairing of roses with fir resin makes it more distinctive than a standard rose scent. It suits cooler weather and evenings, and should appeal to anyone who likes florals with a resinous, woody depth.
