Illusione Bois Nu by the Italian house Bottega Veneta, released in 2021 for men, is a citrus woody scent with a soft, creamy warmth. Citrus is the word everyone uses; about two thirds also call it woody, and a third find it sweet.
Lemon, bergamot and bitter orange open it with a bright, slightly bitter zest. Monoi oil brings an unexpected creamy, coconut-tinged floral softness beneath the citrus, which is where the sweetness comes from. Patchouli and woody notes form a dry, earthy base, and vanilla adds a gentle warmth that smooths the finish without making it a gourmand.
