Bleu Marine

Bleu Marine from Louis Cardin is a floral at heart, but most wearers also find it sweet, woody and citrusy, with amber for about half and spice for a few. It was released in 2017 and is worn by anyone.

The opening is a bright citrus and green-apple splash: bergamot and lemon with neroli, and green notes that keep it crisp. The heart turns tropical and soft, with pineapple and coconut adding a creamy sweetness while rose and orris root bring the floral body and a touch of powder, and ginger lends a little warmth. The base settles into cedar and sandalwood, warmed by amber and resin and smoothed by musk.

Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported. The structure, fresh at the top and warm at the bottom, suits daytime in spring and summer, and anyone who wants a citrus-floral with a slightly sweet, tropical middle rather than a purely clean one. It is sold in a 100 ml bottle.
