Mandarino Malandrino

Mandarino Malandrino is a citrus fragrance with a woody backbone, made by the Italian house iPiccirilli and composed by Sofia Bardelli in 2024. Almost everyone who describes it reaches for the word citrus first; about two thirds also call it woody, and a minority pick up something spicy, green, musky or ambery underneath.

The orange family is the whole point here: mandarin, sweet orange, clementine, kumquat and bergamot are stacked together, with orange blossom adding a soft floral edge and cardamom a touch of warm spice. Fig brings a slightly milky, green roundness. Underneath, cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli keep the fruit from feeling like juice, while ambergris and musk add a salty, skin-like warmth that lingers after the brightness has gone.

It is worn by anyone. The character suggests warm weather and daytime wear, and it should suit someone who likes a cheerful citrus that still has something to say once the first sparkle fades.
