Brioche

Brioche is a bakery gourmand created in 2022 by Anatole Lebreton for his own French house. Sweetness leads, and about half of those who describe it also note a woody side.

The notes read like a boulangerie at dawn. Brioche and croissant give the warm, buttery, slightly yeasty smell of fresh pastry, and butter adds richness. Bran and hay bring a dry, toasty, grainy note, a little like crust and cereal. Honey adds a golden, slightly waxy sweetness. The base is warm and soft: tonka bean gives an almond-like, vanilla-tinged sweetness, and sandalwood a creamy wood that keeps it smooth.

Brioche is shared and can be worn by anyone with a fondness for edible scents. It suits autumn and winter, cosy mornings, weekends and comfort days, and should appeal to people who enjoy realistic, savoury-sweet bakery notes rather than sugary dessert gourmands.
