Nord du Nord, composed by Pierre-Constantin Guéros for the Austrian house WienerBlut in 2015, is a cool, fresh woody fragrance evoking northern forests. Everyone who describes it calls it woody and fresh, and about half also notice green and aromatic facets.

Mint and eucalyptus give the opening a cold, bracing, almost icy freshness, eucalyptus adding a camphorous, medicinal clarity. Watery notes bring a clear, cool, transparent feel, like melting snow or a northern lake. The heart and base are coniferous and woody: fir gives a resinous, green, Christmas-tree freshness, cedar a dry, pencil-like woodiness and moss an earthy, damp, forest-floor depth.

Unisex in spirit, it suits people who love fresh, outdoorsy fragrances without sweetness. The name means north of the north, and the profile works for crisp winter days as well as hot summer ones when something cooling is welcome, for daytime and active wear. Those who enjoy minty, coniferous woods with a mossy base should find it invigorating and clean.
