The opening is mandarin orange and blackcurrant, bright and tart, with cardamom adding a cool, slightly green spice. Rose is the centre of the heart, with magnolia for a fresh lemony softness and freesia for a light, peppery floral lift, so the rose stays airy rather than jammy. The base is where the night in the name comes from: vanilla for sweetness, patchouli for earthy depth, labdanum for a dark resinous warmth, and ambroxan for a long, ambery glow.
