Absolue d’Osmanthe is a floral with a strong sweet side and spicy, woody, resinous and amber touches. It comes from Perris Monte Carlo and was released in 2016 as a shared scent.

Osmanthus is the centre, a flower that smells of apricot and soft suede at once, and plum beside it deepens the fruity, jammy side. Pink pepper gives the opening a light sparkle of spice. Jasmine and jasmine sambac add a creamy, slightly heady floral richness. The base is sandalwood, vanilla, labdanum and tolu balsam, so the drydown is warm, balsamic and gently sweet, which is where the gourmand impression comes from.

It is worn by anyone. There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries, so there is no firm wear data; an osmanthus and balsam composition like this suits autumn and cooler evenings, and people who like fruity florals with a soft, resinous depth rather than freshness.
