It opens with artemisia and wormwood, both sharply bitter and green in the way of absinthe, with lavender adding a cleaner herbal note. The heart is a single jasmine, which softens the bitterness slightly without making it floral in any obvious way. The base is where the wood comes in: fir and juniper give a resinous, coniferous freshness, cedar a dry pencil-wood tone, tobacco a faint sweetness, and musk a skin-like warmth that holds it together.
