Hindu Kush by Mancera, composed by Pierre Montale and released in 2018, is a dark, resinous woody scent worn by anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it woody, about two thirds add amber, and a third mention spicy, sweet, musky or resinous sides.

The opening is unusual and heady: a cannabis note gives a green, herbal, slightly skunky edge, layered with warm spices, labdanum, which is a sticky, leathery resin, and incense for dry smoke. The heart is simpler, with patchouli leaf and general woody notes adding an earthy, slightly damp depth. The base turns smoother and sweeter, as guaiac wood brings a smoky, tar-like warmth, vanilla pod a soft sweetness, and amber and white musk a rounded, lasting glow.

Most wearers report it as long lasting, with a minority calling it eternal, and about half find the sillage strong. It is voted for autumn and spring and splits evenly between night and day, suggesting a bold, incense-and-resin scent for someone who wants something with character rather than freshness.
