Bois Lumière, created in 2014 by Anatole Lebreton for his own French house, is a floral fragrance with a warm, golden glow. Flowers lead, and about half of those who describe it also note sweetness, greenery, wood, resin and amber.

Juniper, mandarin orange and clary sage give a fresh, slightly piney and herbal opening. Carnation and rose bring a spicy, clove-like floral heart. Immortelle adds its distinctive warm, curry-like, honeyed note, and honey with beeswax a rich, waxy sweetness, like sunlight on a candle. The base is resinous and woody: balsam fir gives a sticky, forest-like resin, Atlas cedar a dry wood and benzoin a soft, vanilla-tinged warmth.

It is shared and can be worn by anyone. Bois Lumière suits autumn and winter, quiet evenings and cosy days, and it should appeal to people who like honeyed, resinous scents with a natural, slightly rustic character.
