Saffron opens it with a warm, golden, slightly leathery spice. Rose, including Bulgarian rose, brings a rich, velvety floral heart, with iris and orris root adding a cool, powdery softness and lily of the valley a fresh, dewy touch. The woody core is built on oud from several origins, including Indian and Cambodian, giving a dark, resinous and slightly smoky depth, joined by sandalwood, cabreuva and cashmere wood for a creamy, soft finish, and ambergris for a salty warmth.
Rich and stately, it fits autumn and winter, for evenings, celebrations and formal occasions. The name, meaning capital of the world, refers to Rome, and the scent has a grand, imperial feel to match.
