Saffron and cinnamon open with a warm, leathery and sweet spice, while clary sage and davana add a herbal, slightly boozy fruitiness. Dates bring a sticky, honeyed sweetness. The heart turns resinous: labdanum, myrrh and incense give a dark, balsamic and smoky richness, like a church filled with incense. In the base, agarwood (oud) and sandalwood supply deep, resinous and creamy woods, tobacco a sweet leafiness, and vanilla a softening warmth.
