Sinbad from Lubin, composed in 2019 by Thomas Fontaine and Delphine Thierry, is a spiced rose amber with a bright start. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, most add spicy, amber and citrus, and a third mention wood and resins.
Bergamot and tangerine open it with a sweet, juicy citrus, and pink pepper and cinnamon bring a warm, rosy spice straight after. The heart is Damask rose, rich and slightly honeyed, with orange blossom adding a softer, sweeter floral note. The base is resinous and warm: incense gives a dry, smoky quality, benzoin a vanilla-like sweetness, vanilla itself a creamy depth, and ambergris a salty, soft glow, with sandalwood smoothing the finish.
It is worn by anyone. The character points to cold weather and evening wear, and it suits a person who likes rose set in amber and incense, in the style of Middle Eastern inspired perfumery, but kept lighter by the citrus opening.
