Ambre Superfluide by Les EAUX Primordiales, composed by Amélie Bourgeois and Arnaud Poulain in 2019 and worn by anyone, is a sweet, spiced amber with a boozy, fruity top. Sweetness is what everyone picks up; about half also describe it as spicy, amber-like and citrusy, and a quarter notice wood and resin.
Rum, apple and orange open it, warm, fruity and a little spirited, with bergamot adding brightness and cinnamon and cardamom a warm, aromatic spice. Honey and tobacco form the heart, golden and dry-sweet, with rose adding a faint floral softness. The base is a full amber: vanilla and black vanilla husk for creamy depth, benzoin and tolu balsam for a sweet, balsamic resin, fir and balsam fir for a green, resinous edge, sesame for a toasted nuttiness and musk to smooth the finish.
It reads as a cold-weather and evening fragrance, rich and comforting, suited to someone who likes ambers with spice, tobacco and a touch of rum rather than plain vanilla.
