Moscow Mule, Juliette Has A Gun's 2017 fragrance by Romano Ricci, takes its name from the cocktail and smells the part: a sharp citrus with ginger, made to be worn by anyone. Citrus is the main description, most wearers also find it musky, and a third notice spice, sweetness, woods and amber.
Lemon, lime and bergamot open it, a bright, sour, fizzy citrus. The heart is ginger, zesty and slightly hot, with apple for a crisp fruitiness and hedione, a jasmine-like material that adds an airy, transparent freshness rather than an obvious flower. The base is white musk and ambrette, a soft, clean, slightly powdery musk, over amberwood and woody notes for a dry, warm finish.
Performance is the trade-off: the largest group of wearers call the longevity very weak and most of the rest moderate, and the sillage is intimate for most, so it is a scent to refresh through the day. Summer and spring take most of the votes and it is firmly a daytime fragrance, suited to hot days and anyone who likes a cologne-style citrus with a ginger kick.
