Armani Mania, the 2002 masculine version from Giorgio Armani, was composed by Francis Kurkdjian and Dominique Ropion. Woods lead, with spicy, green, musky, amber and citrus sides each about half as strong.

Citrus leaves and mandarin give a green, slightly bitter, bright opening, and saffron a warm, leathery spice that sets it apart. The heart is woody and dry: cedar clean and pencil-like, vetiver grassy and slightly smoky. The base is soft and smooth, with musk giving a clean, skin-like finish and amber a gentle warmth.

About half of wearers find its longevity moderate, and about a third say it lasts long; most describe its projection as moderate, with about a third calling it intimate. It is voted mainly for summer and spring and worn more by day. That suggests a clean, understated woody scent for warm-weather office days and smart casual wear, for someone who likes dry, green woods with a saffron touch.
