Nearly everyone who describes it reaches for spice and flowers first; about half also find it woody, musky, resinous or citrusy, so it sits in the middle ground rather than at any extreme.
It opens with bitter orange, ginger and black pepper, a sharp, slightly peppery brightness rather than a sweet citrus. The heart turns soft and floral, with Turkish rose and jasmine given a powdery, almond-like cushion by heliotrope. The base settles into tonka bean and benzoin, which bring warmth and a gentle resinous sweetness, with patchouli adding an earthy edge.
Most wearers report moderate to long-lasting performance with a moderate projection that stays close without disappearing. It is voted mainly for autumn and spring, worn by anyone, and splits almost evenly between day and night, which makes it a flexible choice for work days and evenings alike.
