Himalaya, created for Creed in 2002 by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed, is above all a citrus scent for men. Woodiness comes a clear second, and a minority also pick up musk and a soft amber warmth beneath the brightness.
The opening is a trio of Sicilian lemon, grapefruit and Calabrian bergamot, sharp and sunny with a slightly bitter grapefruit edge. Sandalwood fills the heart, creamy and smooth, taking the edge off the citrus as it settles. The base of musk, cedar and ambergris keeps things clean and dry, with ambergris adding a faint salty, skin-like warmth rather than sweetness.
Most wearers describe the longevity as moderate, with roughly a quarter finding it long lasting, and the sillage is moderate for most, intimate for some. It is voted for spring and summer and strongly for daytime, so it reads as a fresh, polished scent for warm days, work and casual wear alike.
